kite view of the Wisconsin State Firefighters Memorial

This was my day to test a new string reel, and at a new site,
the Wisconsin State Firefighters Memorial.

Wind was almost nill at ground level, but steady at 120 yards of line.
Steady enough to be able to walk the line past a dozen trees to get in close.
But too cloudy to keep the shutter speed high, and a lot of pictures were blurred.

First, an overall view of this park near a bend of the Wisconsin River.

There are many views available from the ground.
This structure is new this year,
the Wisconsin State Firefighters Memorial Building,
and should be open to the public later this summer.

A large group of bicyclists just arrived.

The Memorial Wall of Honor, and a Maltese Cross laid in tile.

And if I do this site again, I will underexpose the scene to pick up the subtle colors.
And I should use the pole. I could make much sharper pictures to show the details.
Rarely would the wind be perfect to dodge this many trees with the kite string.

The Firefighters Memorial is part of the city's Ben Hansen Park.

There's a paved sidewalk near the river, a playground, and (not shown) volleyball sand court in the city park.
