County J before overpass

5 miles east of Stevens Point, Wisconsin.
Bad result for panoramic, batteries died just before sunshine and train came through. I show what little I have before construction of County J overpass.

Much distortion in pictures,
J and railroad tracks are straight.
Survey stakes show raised road will be to east / this side of existing road.

For reference, this is a mile east of Stockton, seen in earlier pages this year.

Can just see one grain bin of Stockton on horizon
beyond curve of track where it disappears through woods.

electric power lines recently moved to west / far side of road.
Enough of my time at this site at this time.
Maybe later this year I might try again.
Lousy results this day, not worth the time to repeat yet.
No accidents recently at this crossing,
but newspaper says there were some bad ones in the past.
Hardly a car on the road, but let one 30 mph train come through and the highway gets a dozen vehicles waiting.
County Highway J is supposed to be closed from next week through November.
Not shown here is the car scanner and defect detector behind some trees.
It's the first one to the east of Stevens Point.
