Recent rail pictures from around my area.
Medford, Wisconsin, June 21, Saturday afternoon, engine off, |

New ballast in Plover on the P-line.
Look at the pale grass, it's dry here in central Wisconsin.
And my work life is changing,
I'll be driving west to Wisconsin Rapids now.
So my hobby pages may show more from that area and less of Stevens Point.
Changing jobs has been time consuming. Every year there's something to fix, whether it's nailing on a new roof, digging the well a little deeper, painting the house. And this year it's been a layoff and changing jobs twice.
I haven't taken much time and gas to travel for railfanning. Just see what I can while I'm passing by (even some 'drive-by shooting' ). Fortunately, when I do the kite pictures it is all just time spent and no gas while the car sits. I have practiced slow acceleration and steady on the pedal and drive below the speed limit if there's no traffic (try that in Illinois!) and get 30 mpg with my old Ford Taurus.
I have some great kite pictures 'in the can' but no time to process and show them to you yet.
And after July I'll be on either a day or nite shift. If it's nites and I live on a nite schedule, I might take time to finish the Western Wisconsin Abandonned Rails cd. Some people have seen these pictures at the Soo Line and CNW conventions, as presented by Arlyn Colby.

Wisconsin Rapids is a real CN town. (the only two WC painted locomotives I've seen recently are the sw-1500's WC 1558? and 1552? in Point.) |
