Wisconsin Rapids

Train coming in from Taylor.

Highway 13 overpass on the horizon.

25th ave on west side of Wisconsin Rapids.

More bundled ties again.

Note all the empty sand hoppers sitting on the old main, this train will pick them up in a few hours when they go back to Taylor.

And a rare find for me these days, a Great Northern sky-blue boxcar.
And I thought they only existed yet on model railroads.

And a few weeks later I received an email update from Mark Hintz

The title on the home page says "WC 2014", which is interesting since WC never had a 2014 to my knowledge!
(corrected to WC 3012 on Oct 20, 2008, thank you; I shouldn't make those web pages so late at night )

Also, 'GN' is the reporting marks for Great Northern, and yes, some of them still do roam the rails. However, GNRR is the Georgia Northeastern Railroad.

As for me, I've been having fun processing some WC shots from 2005. Damn, I miss those SD45s, the SD40, and the two SD40-2s that are now in Ohio. :( Still, the memories are nice, and I'll have a new album up in the near future.

. . . Lots of hoppers today, I didn't count but guess over 30 hoppers came in.
