Point Yard

Point Yard

Stevens Point, October, 2008.
Patch Street, rail yard, Plover River
Beware wide-angle panoramic stitch distortion,
Patch Street and tracks are straight in real life.

.

.. .. . . larger view below, scroll right and then back left. Plover River is low, they're drawing it down to freeze out weeds.

.

And afterwards I see I missed the track alignment / picture size when stitching
on the left by the air compressor house.
That's what happens at 3 am
If you want to print it, the original file is twice as large, contact me.
If you want to work with the originals to bend and align them to make a better stitch, contact me.
I've spent enough time on this for my purposes.

.

Mainline runs next to Patch Street and bike trail sidewalk.

'A' yard on the south / left, . . . . 'B' yard on the north side / right

.

.

Copps/ Roundy's white food warehousing on right, no rail sidings now.
They had a siding in Soo Line days, but RR lost the business because yard switcher was too busy in yard to spot cars at warehouse. 'We'll get there' they would say, but it took hours to move in another car. Semi-trailers are a lot easier to place at dock doors.

I don't think this end of yard is very unique for modeling purposes.
If you are modeling Soo Line days, remove the main on the south side, run it up the middle.
Quite the bottleneck back then, sharing it as yard lead?
