lots of snow, then a rainy day. Wisconsin Rapids. |

More snow, the most we ever had in December. Snowvbanks alongside roads are over 3 feet high, and there are few places to park to watch trains.

January 1 (thursday) 2009. Taylor train again, with CN / ic now. Getting fueled by a delivery truck at a street crossing. |

Sunny days are rare lately.
1 degrrree F and 10 mph wind.
Snowmobile trail packs the snow a little harder, too.
Plover Historical Village is in the background.
Winter is one reason I wouldn't like to work for a railroad.
I worked 7 long days in a row and finally have 3 off, but at least I was indoors.
After I take down the Christmas tree, Maybe I'll dust off my model train.
The sun was shining through the window and I saw cobwebs like miniature chains holding the boxcars .
.
And while driving at twilight, I see the Sno Fiter on this same stretch of track.
I had less than ten seconds to climb a pile of snow and pan some night pictures.
Blurred.
.
Headed to the cannery east of Plover.
See my last Spring's page for some day light pictures of this machine
