Badger Ferry page 2

Lake Michigan, Ludington, Michigan, 2009.
4 hours after leaving Manitowoc, Wisconsin

.
.

. . . . . . . . . . . Coast Guard station.

.

The SPARTAN is nearby. (floating storage?)
And north of here, at Manistee, is supposed to be another one in storage (I don't know the name of that ferry)

.

.

The BADGER coasted in a mile,

and now the horsepower is back on for the docking.

.

.

The ramp still exists to reach what used to be an upper automobile deck.
It is still used for re- supply. A passenger commented that the ramp is steep and has many turns,
and was built for driving cars forward both ways. But they have to BACK this truck up there.

.

.

I have dozens of pictures I haven't shown of nautical hardware on the ferry.
Lifeboats, winches, lights, etc.
It's all of 1951 vintage with lots of paint covering it.
I won't make a web page of that yet.
