The SPARTAN is nearby. (floating storage?) And north of here, at Manistee, is supposed to be another one in storage (I don't know the name of that ferry) |

The BADGER coasted in a mile,
and now the horsepower is back on for the docking.

The ramp still exists to reach what used to be an upper automobile deck. It is still used for re- supply. A passenger commented that the ramp is steep and has many turns, and was built for driving cars forward both ways. But they have to BACK this truck up there. |

I have dozens of pictures I haven't shown of nautical hardware on the ferry. Lifeboats, winches, lights, etc. It's all of 1951 vintage with lots of paint covering it. I won't make a web page of that yet. |
