Vetter Switch 2010

Vetter Switch 2010

it's a Cold 15 degrees F in Stevens Point on a sunny Sunday afternoon, January 10, 2010

The Vetter building is a quarter mile west of the Stevens Point depot.
It is for sale, and I'm surprised it doesn't get removed to lessen a tax burden.

The Vetter Switch job is shuffling paper mill cars for the Stevens Point Division of New Page.

Note that it is a pole camera picture from 30 up, but the road I'm on is 5 feet below track level.

I submitted it to the RailPictures web site.
I haven't tried that lately because I have had very few 'perfect' pictures.

RailPictures Reason(s) for Rejection:
- Bad Angle: The angle from which the image was composed is poor.
This can include extreme angles below or above the subject,
uninteresting angles on roster shots,
and images in which the train is going away from the viewer.

So I struck out on out on a couple of counts.
Railroads don't run trains just to make pretty pictures.
But the brick is sure pretty in the setting sun,
and the red of the CN still looks good.
