We had several mornings with a good dose of hoarfrost in central Wisconsin. I didn't have time to wait for the ideal moment when the sun breaks out and makes the landscape brilliant white. Hoover Avenue pines, and 5 CN units westbound, waiting, on a Sunday morning. |

Below is a commercial job from Plover / Whiting at 10 am on a Sunday morning, within site of Point yard. Long ago, this move was always in the afternoon, and now it is often in mid-morning. |

The little 'ol CN/WC 1566 and an empty corn oil tank car is MY favorite of this week. The switch job must have run out of time at Golden Sands (they continued on their way the next day) And I could have done better if I would have used a tripod instead of a sign post to brace the camera. And I would have liked to have experimented using some sunglasses to darken the McCains potatoes sign to keep it from being overly bright. But there was only a few minutes to get what I did while on my drive to work. |

Below is one of those twice or thrice weekly trains in the early morning from Point to Rapids via Plover. Here they are paused at First Street in Wisconsin Rapids while flagging the street crossing. |

The second unit is BC. This is the second time I've seen this unit in Rapids this week. It was also by the Point roundhouse last weekend Jan 16th |
