Central Wisconsin isn't quite as warm as Bikini Bottom
(of Sponge Bob Square Pants fame)
.
There was a Snow Sculpting contest in Wisconsin Rapids,
to benefit the South Wood County Humane Society.
And there is a new fenced Dog Park
(but I dont' have a picture of that today)
which opens up some possibilties for rail pictures because it is close to the yard on the northwest corner of Rapids.
( that may be another webpage story in the future)
.
Anyway, to get back to the story,
I shift my thoughts back to Plover . . . . . .
| While on my way to Church, I saw the CN/WC 1570 working Plover |

|
After Church, about 9:15am, they are northbound over the Plover River. Seen from the east side. |

.
.
I am hiking on the Green Trail
which is on the former original WC P-Line ROW.
(was that Mike Roosevelt of Wausau who asked me about the location of the P-line here? While he was visiting Stevens Point for the Artic Run model RR show.)
The SW just clears the junction switch hidden in the woods,
and then I catch a glimpse of a southbound Orange J approaching the same place.
I could see the tops of just the excess-height cars
as they round the curve behind the millwork buildings in the distance .
.
.
Looking east up-river toward Whiting Park and a nice Winter scene.
Time to finish taking pictures here and walk a minute to get to the car.
This location is not my first choice for a southbound this morning.
I can't see the trestle from this side unless I walk a woodsy trail, and I would never get there in time.
| Fresh ice and frost, 7degrrees F this morning. |

.
| Then I drive south a half mile to take advantage of the morning sun on the curve by Okray Avenue. |

. . . . .. You can see a map and aerial picture of the Plover River trestle area on this page from last year:
