Hoover Avenue Aerial 2010

Hoover Avenue and the mainline tracks cross at grade.

It getting a little rough.
There's even a Buick hub cap laying here.

In two or three years, the street will be moved into an underpass.
The motorists and local fire department will like that.
The closest alternate route is a mile away.

Looking southwest, in the distance is Herschnerr's craft store and warehouse,
and closer up is the publishing facilities of the Stevens Point Journal newspaper.

there was traffic backed up on this side, but they were doing a U-turn and left.
A golf course is in the trees.

Below, looking northeast at the former Woodward Governor plant.
Now, Spectra Print is using most of the building.
A few years ago, a windmill blade manufacturer considered using the building,
but neighborhood residents were worried about talk of adding a rail spur into the facility
and then that employer went elsewhere.
The CN mainline is hidden by pine trees in the foreground.

Looking east at Jehrns Medical.
They used to have a rail siding on the east (far) end, for incoming lumber?.
CN mainline is on the left, and US 51 / I-39 is in the distance.
